PRAY, PRAY, PRAY for God’s Hand of Protection on Hope Gardens!

We’re not “out of the woods” yet!  We received word just a few hours ago that the winds have again shifted back in the direction of the Hope Garden’s facility. Please pray for God’s mighty hand of protection to calm the winds and protect Hope Gardens…a Haven of Hope for these 250+ women, children and seniors.

Earlier today, all indications were that the HG buildings were still standing. Precluding any additional fire damage, the assumption is that there’s serious smoke damage and possible water damage if the ceiling sprinklers ignited. It could be 3 weeks before residents would be able to return, but until the fires are contained and extinguished we can not say for certain.

Given the current state of affairs, temporary plans through Christmas have been coordinated. The 250 Moms and children will be housed in the gym at the Union Rescue Mission.  Please pray for these dear families.  The children are scared that they will be “homeless” again if they’re unable to return to Hope Gardens.  One little boy asked Pastor Dan, “Is Hope Gardens still there?” We’ve organized minor programing to keep the children occupied. They’re enjoying games and movies. Local church partners have stepped in with the donation of emergencies supplies.

The 26 senior women will continue to stay at the hotel for the next 3 weeks with HG staff assisting them.  Deed and Truth is funding their stay at the Pasadena Travel Lodge, along with meals, clothing, and emergency necessities.  They were treated to dinner at Denny’s last night and a trip to Target to purchase clothing.  They had been in their PJs all day and smelled like smoke. These dear senior women are feeling much more secure today but still very fearful of their future and emotionally fragile.

In the upcoming weeks we’ll have need for “Boots on the Ground” and will provide you with updates on how you can help.

THANK YOU DEED AND TRUTH PARTNERS!!!!

Your generous and expeditious donations are providing for these enormous needs!  We are overwhelmed with gratitude for all of you and thank our Lord and Savior for your partnership in the Gospel!  Sometimes words aren’t enough and you’re living proof of that!  Thank YOU!

Earlier we sent you an email to request prayer for the residents of our Hope Gardens Family Center because the fires in Sylmar, California are dangerously close. We evacuated all of the 250 residents and relocated them to the Union Rescue Mission Gym facility in downtown Los Angeles. At this point, we have no idea when families and seniors will be able to return to Hope Gardens.

Since we emailed you, the 26 seniors at Hope Gardens are unable to stay on the gym floor at the URM. These seniors do not have their glasses, extra clothing, or medication. We are going to put them up in a hotel but we truly need your help to meet their needs. We just finished treating them to dinner at Denny’s and need to get them a change of clothes so that they don’t smell like smoke. We also need to try and help meet their other immediate needs.

Will you help us take care of these seniors?

We will continue to update you as the situation progresses. Thank you for partnering with us to be the hands and feet of Jesus when words just truly aren’t enough.

You have likely seen the news that there is a fire in Sylmar, California. It is perilously close to our Hope Gardens Family Center. We have had to evacuate all 250 of our guests including mothers, children, babies, and seniors. We praise God that everyone is safe and staying in the gym at the mission in downtown LA.

However, prayer is needed for the emotional condition of our guests and the protection of our facility as fire is approaching. Additionally, we need support to provide diapers, wipes, baby food, baby bottles, and bottled water. Will you help them?
