A month after leaving my staff position at the mission I am still coming back to teach.

Good Friday we held a Deed & Truth bible study at the Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles as we studied the biblical events that occurred that most important day in all of human history. It was a memorial time as we reflected on the incredible sacrifice of Christ on the cross.

This past Thursday I returned to preach at the Thursday night chapel for the men and women living on Skid Row at the Mission. We had an enthusiastic crowd and you could have heard a pin drop as the Word of God was presented. Many of the guests left with a fresh dose of God-given HOPE to energize their next steps toward emotional and relational healing.

After chapel, a group of us hung out at the bowling alley and downed a good deal of pizza as we caught up on what was going on in each other’s lives.

Deed & Truth is committed to continuing to hold bible studies and community events at the Mission to promote healthy relationships with God and each other. We believe those two elements are essential for on-going recovery and the development of a meaningful life.

  2. Good afternoon Dan… I didn’t realize you had left your staffing position at URM. It looks like you are still very involved. I don’t know what the men and women would do without your word of Truth taught by you. I pray all is going well with you and your family. Sincerely, In Christ, Love Leslie
