Living on Skid Row you meet a lot of hurting people who are undernourished who are hungry and thirsty.  The Union Rescue Mission is the largest service provider in Los Angeles serving a million meals a year.

However the hunger and thirst I’ve been seeing lately is actually a really good thing.

Every Wednesday morning in my office from 7:45 – 9:00 am I started a verse-by-verse bible study of the book of Ephesians.  It is growing and the room is busting at the seams.  The coolest thing is the response of the men.  They are so excited about what they are learning but also at how it is useful for every day living.

They are like kids in a candy shop.  It’s so fun to watch light bulbs go on and the expressions on their faces.  It’s been a while since I’ve seen young believers being so amazed with God.  It is generating joy and a deeper hunger and thirst for more of God’s Word… and that kind of hunger and thirst is a really good thing!

Please pray as these men experience the richness of God’s Word, that they might be inspired to develop consistent devotional lives and grow in their love for God.
