Late yesterday afternoon, notification was received it was safe for HOPE GARDEN residents to return home!
Once again, the Lord reached down with His mighty hand of protection and held back the hazardous mudslides from impacting Hope Gardens, home to over 225 women, children and seniors. Yesterday, Emergency Services via the Sheriff’s Department issued a mandatory evacuation order due to potentially dangerous mudslides.
The evacuation went smoothly and we were able to bring all the women and children to the Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles and put them up in the Gym. (We’ve had some practice.)
Our biggest challenge was retrieving the children from school and uniting them with their Moms.
With your support, Deed and Truth purchased the additional inflatable mattresses needed; as well as, hotel accommodations, dinner and breakfast for our 26 senior women.
