{"id":4818,"date":"2023-06-26T22:17:52","date_gmt":"2023-06-27T05:17:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deedandtruth.org\/?p=4818"},"modified":"2023-06-26T22:19:57","modified_gmt":"2023-06-27T05:19:57","slug":"nobody-believed-in-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deedandtruth.org\/blog\/nobody-believed-in-me\/","title":{"rendered":"Nobody Believed In Me"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">We tend to believe what people in our life tell us about ourselves.&nbsp;Voices have power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">For Michael, hardline drugs were the way to silence the voices of discouragement he had heard all his life.&nbsp;But a drug addiction resulted in many, many lost years.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">Michael struggled for a long time before finally seeking shelter and safety at the Union Rescue Mission in Skid Row Los Angeles.&nbsp;What he found was love and acceptance which proved even more powerful than the drug addiction.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">Michael finished the recovery program and was hired on as a part-time Apprentice.&nbsp;He has a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine work-class smile he wears just about every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">Deed &amp; Truth just formed a new L.A. House2Home team made up completely of Union Rescue Mission Alumni.&nbsp;We all moved Michael into his new studio apartment.&nbsp;All of his friends were so encouraging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">Michael never felt anyone was ever there for him in life.&nbsp;He didn\u2019t find encouragement and acceptance.&nbsp;He always felt like he was on his own.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">This Deed and Truth House2Home was very moving for him emotionally. He was texting me every day the week prior telling me how excited he was.&nbsp;He met our truck out on the street with all his Alumni friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">Check out these two texts he sent me the evening of the move-in and the next morning\u2026 as he shares his heart, it will warm your heart\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cSo, Chaplain Dan, I\u2019m in stitches right now\u2026 Thank You. Nobody believed in me but you guys did!&nbsp;&nbsp;I\u2019m so grateful!!&nbsp;I\u2019m sitting here shaking my head\u2026 I cannot believe what God has done for me today.&nbsp;Thanks to all of you guys in the community.&nbsp;I love you man, I love you Chaplain Dan.&nbsp;\\You bring tears to my eyes tonight\u2026 tears of joy.&nbsp;Love you always\u2026 I will stay in contact\u2026 Words can\u2019t explain how I\u2019m feeling right now and with that being said\u2026 we don\u2019t count the days, we make days count\u2026 and that\u2019s exactly what we did as a community as a child in Christ.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019m in awe right now waking up for the first time in my life in my own space!&nbsp;&nbsp;Please extend my appreciation to your crew and tell Miss
