1 Peter 4:5-6

but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.6 For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.

Sometimes it’s hard to understand and comply with God’s will for our life. In this case, we are being told how the world will respond to us in a negative way that is entirely unfair. These verses highlight, that God will hold everyone accountable for actions. God is all about justice. He will hold us all accountable for our response to justice. In doing so, he is also fair to the unjust in that he gives us opportunity to hear the gospel to find mercy and grace.

If you are being maligned for living a righteous life take heart knowing that God sees and rewards. He also will hold those accountable for any mistreatment. Therefore, we are reminded not to take justice into our own hands. God’s got it covered. All we need to do is persevere any mistreatment from the world and trust God to bless our faithfulness.
