OK, so it’s not a word… but maybe it should be. Solomon captured the idea when he said, “whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” (Proverbs 11:25). There is something very satisfying about doing things for others, especially those who need it most. Maybe that’s because this is what God made us to do… to partner with Him to serve others
Check out these two short testimonials about the personal experiences of this lovely mother and daughter who recently volunteered for the first time by joining our Well Works House2Home Team.
I found out about House2Home from our Bible Study at school. For years our family has had the opportunity to donate items for their projects, but I’ve never had the privilege to help transform a space into a home alongside their team. I was thrilled when my daughter and I were asked to help with Lindsey and her family’s new home.
From start to finish we were so impressed by the organization and thoughtfulness that went into every detail. All items and pieces of furniture were pre-selected for her home and everything was clearly marked for us to load into the truck. Once we arrived at Lindsey’s new home, we were all assigned to decorate specific rooms. My daughter and I were lucky enough to be assigned to Lindsey’s son’s room, which my daughter really enjoyed. He loves dinosaurs, so House2Home provided him with new bedding covered in dinosaurs. They even provided him with brand new dinosaur pajamas. It was so thoughtful. When we were done my daughter shared that it was a dream kids room. I agreed.
Overall, the outcome of the entire space was flawless. The home was absolutely beautiful! Everything was clean, organized, and cozy. It was obvious that each volunteer put their heart into creating a safe and comfortable space for Lindsey and her family. You could feel the love. Lindsey and her son could settle in and enjoy their new home.
At the end of the day it was such a joy to meet Lindsey and her son. To see her son’s face when he saw his bedroom was a blessing beyond words for both me and my daughter. We were able to pray with them and ask God to bless their new home. We both look forward to helping out in the future and thank God for such an incredible organization.

All throughout junior high I’ve had the chance to help out with many service projects and organizations, but House2Home has definitely impacted me the most. It was so amazing to see the transformation the house went through. I loved helping and I had so much fun organizing and decorating the rooms. I got to help with the little boy’s room and it was so cool to see it all come together into a cute and cozy room.
The environment was so nice as well and all the volunteers were so kind and helpful. It was a truly moving and fun experience. It was so inspiring to see the family’s reaction and it put a smile on my face. I loved helping and would definitely do it again.
