He beat her so badly she was hospitalized for four months with broken bones.
When she got out of the hospital, she became homeless, living on the streets and the loudest voice in her head was begging her to numb the pain.
So she did… over and over and over again, she would numb the pain with substance abuse. But when it wore off, it was magnified by the shame of who she had become.
Carla eventually lost her children to the system and hit rock bottom. She finally came to her senses and reached out for help to the Orange County Rescue Mission. Her bones have healed and so has her heart. She has experienced the unconditional love of God from the staff at the mission and found forgiveness and acceptance in Christ. She has worked hard to build a firm foundation for a new life supported by her faith in God.
Carla has graduated from the mission recovery program, secured a good job driving a bus for the OCTA, and signed a lease for a place of her own.
Recently, our House2Home team from Christ Central Church of Fullerton spent their Saturday afternoon turning Carla’s house into a home. Everyone had such a good attitude and helpful spirit serving side by side with one another, knowing their efforts were helping end homelessness for a beautiful soul.
Carla returned to a fully decorated apartment and patio area. She was so grateful for the love shown by each person who contributed items to furnish and decorate her home and each volunteer who gave of their time.
Carla has experienced a traumatic journey but she no longer seeks to numb her pain, rather, she desires to share how God redeemed her pain. Now she enjoys feeling the joy that has flooded her heart. She has found real purpose in life by volunteering many, many hours, using her experience to help other women navigate the difficult journey to know how to get help.
Please pray for Carla as she pursues her volunteering to help hurting women, as she seeks to bring joy to every passenger who enters her bus, and as she grows in her relationship with God.
Thank you to everyone who supports this ministry through financial and furniture donations. We thank you, Carla thanks you, and I’m certain Jesus thanks you most, for when you do something for the least of these, you do it to and for him.

I love women with tools in their hands!… particularly when serving the Lord🙌♥️💃🏻
