No Going Home

Wendy, a single-mother, knew she could not go back to the only place she had called home.

She knew she could not stay sober if she returned to the only place she had ever called home. Sometimes there’s no going back home… because “home” isn’t safe. It’s not healthy. That’s a tough spot to find yourself without being tethered to healthy family or meaningful relationships. It’s a lonely place to find yourself.

But Wendy did find a sober living shelter that would accept her and her son, Cash. Eventually, she found the Orange County Rescue Mission and she started all over. She said getting sober is one of the hardest things she’s ever done but thanks to God she’s been sober for four years now. Wendy said she’s trusting in a new relationship with God and she’s so grateful to him for her opportunity to start fresh and create a new home for herself and her son, Cash.

Recently, Deed and Truth came along side Wendy and Cash to help them transition into their new space. Our House2Home team from Pacific Coast Church helped turn her empty apartment into a “home” to make lasting memories together. 

Wendy’s goals are to keep saving and to pay off old debt to improve her credit score. She is excited about having her own stocked kitchen to cook their meals and be able to save on food. Please pray for Wendy and her financial goals.
