He fractured her spine and drained her bank accounts. She had to escape for her safety.
Alexandria is a victim of Domestic Violence. She may never fully recover emotionally or physically but she did finally escape the nightmare.
She, and her two young boys found refuge at the Union Rescue Mission on skid row after a long, hard search. She heard about Hope Gardens and transferred to their one-year recovery program where she not only found a place to breathe but also found a relationship with Jesus Christ. He restored her hope and joy and sense of self-worth. She values the firm foundation Jesus has given her as her savior. He has also provided loving church friends and family to come along-side Alexandria in her journey towards a brighter tomorrow.
Alexandria has gotten full custody of her children and is currently working with the court system to keep her former husband behind bars. She still deals with residual fear but her faith gives her the needed strength to override those challenging emotions.
Alexandria has graduated the program at Hope Gardens and has secured a lease on an apartment. She is pursuing a certificate as a paralegal driven by a strong desire to help protect young mothers like herself from the evils of DV.
Deed & Truth, along with our partners from All Nations Church, helped turn her empty apartment into a beautiful home. She was overwhelmed when she entered her fully decorated home for the first time. She couldn’t get over the transformation. We reminded her that this House2Home transformation is a beautiful object lesson mirroring outwardly the incredible inward life transformation that Jesus has done in her heart.
Please take a moment to look at the pictures of her new home. We couldn’t include pictures of Alexandria and her children, for their safety, as her domestic violence case is still in process.
What a wonderful testimony of God’s grace and mercy for Alexandria! So glad to hear that she is pursuing a certificate as a paralegal so that she can help other women find hope as she did. I am very thankful that our church gets to participate in this ministry of mercy with Deed and Truth. On behalf of All Nations Community Church, thank you for the opportunity to serve with you. You are a great channel of blessing to so many people, and your reward will be great in heaven!
Participating in this event was such a joy. Thank you, Deed & Truth, for the way you live out the gospel of Jesus in this tangible and love-filled way… and for inviting us to be a part of this work.
The apartment looks beautiful!! 🙌I’m sure Alexandria loved it! Praying for her and her boys safety! ❤️❤️❤️
