Where does a mother of three go to get away from an abusive relationship?

Rocio, has three small children, and she tried to make a relationship work with the father but he was abusive toward her. Once she mustered enough courage to “move away” and remove herself and her children from that situation she had the monumental task of figuring out where to “move to.”

She moved in with her mother, then sofa surfed at friends’ homes, and even tried making another go with the father who said he had changed. Nothing worked for very long. Tired and confused she entered “His House,” a faith-based facility to heal mentally and emotionally from the trauma and abuse.

Rocio eventually found strength from God to get back on her feet. She secured employment with benefits. She moved out of the facility and into a single-family condo complex managed by the Orange County Rescue Mission in Buena Park.

Deed and Truth was pleased to partner with our Pacific Coast Church H2H team, to help Rocio end her journey of homelessness, turning her new house into a home.

Team Leader, Kim Niklas, put it well in a simple prayer, “Lord, thank you for the opportunity to work with H2H using the gifts you have given us, to bless your children with a brighter future.”

Eric, who is new to the team and attended his first House2Home move-in said the experience reminded him of Ephesians 2:10… “We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do GOOD WORKS, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

My family and I are beyond blessed! Everything came out so great and it definitely feels like a HOME!! ❤️🥰 thank you and everyone who made this possible! 🥹🙏🏽

Rocio

Thanks to the PCC H2H team and to all of our Deed and Truth supporters, for helping Rocio and her three small children, move beyond abuse and move into a place to call “home.”

Please pray for Rocio. Her prayer requests relate to accomplishing her goals:

  • to develop consistent healthy living patterns
  • to pay off debt to raise her credit rating
  • to continue her mental health counseling

  1. Praise God from whom all blessings flow…I look forward to an opportunity to help locally…when will the next H2H be for PCC to participate in?

    1. Hi Laura
Thanks for your interest in volunteering. I will pass along your name to the new PCC H2H point person, Kim. Not sure when the next one will be for this team but Kim will let you know. My Guess: April
