We’re looking forward to a great year serving those who are doing the work to rebuild their life. Check out the ways we’re partnering with these individuals and see how you might be able to get involved this year!

1. HOUSE2HOME

H2H assists families to transition from the recovery institution to a home by furnishing their apartment and providing relational support with mentors, life coaches, & prayer partners. We also offer House2Home recipients free access to a professional counselor. This year we will be focusing on expansion by serving additional organizations who have graduates transitioning into housing as well as recruiting and training new teams from churches and companies to be move-in agents. We also want to expand to provide additional services for these families including ongoing counseling, relational support teams, basic Christian discipleship, life skills training, and practical assistance (grocery assistance, transportation, emergency funds for car repair, educational support). We will also be offering training to those interested in developing relationships with these mom and dads through periodic zoom meetings and videos.

2.TRANSITION SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Financial support to help URM graduates transition into permanent housing along with mentorship, life coaching, and prayer support.

3. AFTER-SCHOOL LEARNING & RECREATIONAL CENTER

The After-School Learning Center in Compton is in partnership with Hope in Christ Community Church. This will be a place for students in Compton to go after school to get help with their homework and be connected to caring people who encourage their education and character development. The opening has been indefinitely postponed due to Covid-19 Health Concerns.

3. SPIRITUAL DISCIPLESHIP

  • We sponsor The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) that provides seminary level bible classes in Skid Row for those wanting to pursue a deeper knowledge of God’s Word but are unable to pay for seminary classes.
  • Mentorship: One-on-one relationships with other Christian men and women.
  • Iron Man Conference sponsored by Pacific Coast Church
  • Recovery Bibles for all new participants, Engraved Bibles for all graduates

4. ALUMNI COMMUNITY BUILDING

Providing leadership and sponsorship for the Union Rescue Mission and the Orange County Rescue Mission for Alumni as well as Senior women and men experiencing homelessness to keep them relationally connected for encouragement, personal development, and accountability.

5. EMPLOYMENT: JOB READINESS

Help people experiencing homelessness get their GED & CA Drivers License (two employment hurdles).

6. LEADERSHIP SUPPORT

Providing emotional and practical support for front line staff serving those experiencing homelessness through conferences, retreats, and self-care.

7. VOLUNTEER CULTIVATION
