God has been expanding our House2Home ministry these past two years. We are needing to transition our storage space to accommodate the growth.
When we first began the House2Home ministry we started with a small team of six people expecting to transition six families in the coming year. We collected a few items in a friends garage and bought the rest so we could move in the first couple of families. Then God blew the lid off the ministry.
Soon we were moving in 2-3 families a month. God provided a truck to borrow and we moved past one garage into a small storage unit. Then God blessed us with more families and a larger space to store furniture free of charge from a local company.
We have been busy recruiting more church and corporate partners to provide the volunteers, furnishings and funds. We currently have nine volunteer teams in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
God has provided everything we have needed and after 20 months we have helped end homelessness for 48 families! However, we are now experiencing another kind of growing pain. We need to find a new place to store the furniture. We have been asking people to pray to ask God for a solution.
This week we were able to secure the needed space located just two miles from the Orange County Rescue Mission. However, it comes at a cost of $8,500 for the coming year. It’s a convenient location with easy access for our truck and volunteers. However, it’s a new financial line item that wasn’t in our budget.
We are praying for God to provide a donor(s) who would step up to provide the funds for this infrastructure cost to keep the ministry thriving. God has provided the vision, the household goods, the volunteers, and the moving truck to transition these families experiencing homelessness. We fully expect him to provide the necessary funds for the storage space.
