If you visit skid row you can find a number of things in abundance: Drugs… Mental Illness… Loneliness… Depression… Self-Defamation… but Cindy found LOVE!

They both independently bounced around from place to place… Homeless! Cindy and Andrew eventually met at the Union Rescue Mission in Skid Row. Andrew had entered the Christian Life Discipleship Program and Cindy finally got accepted at Hope Gardens. They kept their relationship going and ended up getting married and having a son together.

They recently received a section 8 voucher but the closest apartment they could find was in Barstow, CA. They moved in two weeks ago. Deed and Truth provided them all their furniture needs thanks to our devoted volunteers and donors.

They now have a place to call home for their small family but both Cindy and Andrew will need to find new jobs closer to home. Please pray for them to find good jobs in that community.

Pray also for Andrew’s health. He is dealing with numerous significant health issues including Stage one Kidney disease, AFIB heart condition, diabetes, and high blood pressure. It has been adversely affecting him physically, emotionally, and mentally. He is doing his best to work hard for as long as he is able.

They are also asking for prayer for little Jeremiah and a little girl whom Cindy is due to deliver on July 15th. Lots of new experiences and opportunities. It’s both very exciting and very stressful. Please keep Cindy, Andrew, Jeremiah, and the new baby in your prayers.

Cindy and Andrew pass along their gratitude to all those who made their move possible. Cindy says, “it’s all to the glory of God, because of his grace and mercy, we are redeemed!”

  1. Dear Andrew & Cindy,
What a beautiful story. And look where you are now?:) God is So Good. Little Jeremiah is adorable and you are now expecting a beautiful baby girl.
I will be praying for you all, especially Andrew and his many health issues. I will pray for a safe and healthy delivery of your new daughter. Deed & Truth is so amazing. To see lives transformed is what it is all about. It is what Jesus Christ is all about. God bless you all, in Christ, Love Leslie
