It’s not been an easy path, but Lindsey is knocking on the door to success.

Here’s Lindsey’s account of her journey.  You can hear her commitment to succeed in every paragraph.

“Before going to the Orange County Rescue Mission, I was lost spiritually and emotionally. I was isolated due to covid and my alcoholism was unmanageable. I couldn’t keep bouncing around with my son so I had no other option but to surrender and give up my plan, my will, my idea of what life should be like.

I got accepted to the Village of Hope and got to work. I started therapy, which I still continue, and 12 step groups. I am now leading a Celebrate Recovery group as I celebrate 3 ½ years of sobriety. I have been working at a church for 1 ½ years and attend Mariners Church in Tustin.

I stay connected to the community at OCRM through the Alumni Association because that program saved my life. By staying connected I am giving back what was so freely given to me… HOPE! It is also an investment in my sobriety and my therefore, me and my son’s future.

I will continue to work and save. We don’t eat out often and now with our own kitchen I will be cooking more. I utilize OCRM Alumni benefits and am frugal with my money. It’s all been accomplished through God’s grace, his love, and the support of people he put in my path. He has provided the strength to fight and this has become our new reality.”

Last month one of our House2Home teams moved Lindsey into her place. She is so grateful to each donor and volunteer that made this dream come true. Please pray for Lindsey and her five-year-old son, Orion. She is committed to make their lives better and God is blessing her many good decisions and dedicated efforts.

  1. She models and exemplifies gratefulness for the grace God has given her everyday. People that are new to their faith see it and flock to her and Lindsey always makes time. She knows how far she has come and her home and the way you made her home a HOME is amazing. Orion loves his
“Cool room” and talks about it often and wants people to come hang out at his house. It’s amazing what you all have done. God bless you guys.

  2. Lindsey and Orion’s new apartment/home is lovely.
Orion loves his room and is learning to keep it tidy(sort of).
Lindsey’s furniture is fantastic, by which I mean it’s very comfortable. And it all looks really good too.
