Erica didn’t grow up in a home with parental guidance or loving attention.

Erica fell into a lifestyle of bad choices. Choices turned into habits and habits played out into outcomes filled with pain and regret. She knew something needed to change but how does a person change the course of their life?

When Erica finally decided to give up the path she was on to combat homelessness. She knew she had to confront her bad choices and habits. She turned to the Orange County Rescue Mission. She, along with her three children, began a journey of healing, growing, and humbling herself before God and others.

At the OC Rescue Mission Erica came to an end of herself and surrendered herself to God. She began to trust him instead of rely on her own faulty understanding. And things began to change for the good.

After two years, Erica graduated the program with honors as the valedictorian. Her faith has continued to grow and she was ready to move out into independent living. Deed and Truth, along with the House2Home team from Pacific Coast Church in San Clemente made that transition possible by turning her empty apartment into a cozy home.

Thanks to all of the volunteers and donors who have made Erica’s transition possible. Erica can now confirm that wise choices lead to productive habits and God blesses those choices with good outcomes. Erica is so grateful to all who donated time, furnishings, and finances to make this dream come true. After the reveal, Erica sent us a text… “I want today to thank you all, and your team, for putting together my home for me and my family.  We LOVE it so much.”
